01 / Approach

Built around the journey, not the comparison.

This isn't a benchmarking tool. It's an A → B diagnostic. The value sits in understanding where you are, agreeing where you need to be, and translating that gap into concrete next steps.

A
Diagnose where you are

Score each of the 28 sub-capabilities on a 0–5 scale, anchored to the four maturity stages. Sequential gating prevents leapfrogging — fundamentals must be in place before advanced capabilities count.

B
Define where you're going

Identify the target stage that reflects your 12-month ambition. The dashboard surfaces your weakest sub-capabilities first — the priorities most worth investing in.

Plan how you get there

Three concrete actions per pillar — automatically tailored to your current stage. A roadmap your team can execute on, defensible to your CFO and your board.

01
Foundational
Basics in place

Capability exists in some form, but is reactive, manual, often siloed. The foundation is there to build on.

02
Operational
Consistent practice

Capability is reliable and repeatable. Standard practices are in place. Most peer organisations sit somewhere here.

03
Connected
Integrated

Capabilities span teams, channels and data sources. Integrated decision-making across the digital stack.

04
Predictive
AI-led, autonomous

Forward-looking, AI-driven, tied directly to business outcomes. Setting the pace for the category.

02 / Methodology

How the scoring works.

A simple, defensible 0–5 scale anchored at observable behaviours, and three principles that keep the diagnosis honest.

The 0–5 scale
0
Not in place
1
Early discussion or planning only
2
Piloting or partial implementation
3
Implemented but not yet consistent
4
Fully operational and consistent
5
Fully operational, optimised, benchmark for others
The principles
Sequential gating
Each foundational sub-capability must reach 3 before higher stages count toward your maturity. Prevents leapfrogging diagnoses.
Anchored definitions
0, 3, and 5 are anchored with clear, observable behaviours. The middle scores interpolate. Less interpretation, more honesty.
No benchmarking
We don't compare you against the market. The journey is the diagnosis — comparison hides what you actually need to do next.

Score each capability.

Score each sub-capability 0–5. Results update on the right as you go, and your scores are saved in this browser — you can come back later to finish or refine.

Step 1 · Tag this assessment

05 / Action plan

From diagnosis to roadmap.

Your scores translate directly into priorities and actions. Lowest-scoring sub-capabilities surface first — with the business consequence of leaving them unaddressed, and the recommended next move.
